Why Blog?

Nowadays it is the norm to engage in the type of behavior where we are continuously exposing ourselves online. We edit and cut bits and pieces of our lives to create an alter ego that we deem to be the most perfect and flawless versions of ourselves. We live behind these facades and begin to identify with these false personas. I am no exception to this new norm of society and I do partake in the narcissistic ways of social media.

However, there is something still unnerving about the idea of blogging; sharing my inner thought and ideas and freely speaking about what is on my mind. It exposes a different type of vulnerability by allowing others to see the unedited, raw, and honest version of myself. It is easier to gauge a person’s character, personality, mentality, values, strengths, and weakness through their writing and what they choose to write about, versus through their most post-worthy pictures. There is so much beauty and power that comes with writing and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely all while painting a detailed picture of the story. And that is what ultimately encouraged me to start blogging. I aim to improve my craft over time by simply practicing and I look forward to showing you the original, genuine, and authentic me while doing so.
